A man was arrested after police were called to an incident in Crosby, near Maryport, this morning.
Up to 10 police cars and an ambulance were sent to a property on Old Road at about 7.30am after concerns were raised for the safety and welfare of a man.
Police with riot shields entered the house and a section of the road was cordoned off.
Neighbours heard shouting from inside the building.
A 24-year-old man was seen to be escorted from the property just before 10am.
The majority of police have now left the scene and the road has reopened.
One neighbour said: "It was like something you see on TV but not something that happens in Crosby."
A police spokesman said the man had been arrested and was later released without charge.
