Police are appealing for witnesses after two men were assaulted in Workington’s Vulcan Park at around 5.40pm yesterday.
The 18-year-old from Workington and a 20-year-old from Workington, sustained several injuries including cuts and bruises.
Six people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
A 39-year-old man, a 25-year-old man and a 23-year-old man were all arrested on suspicion of GBH, two 40-year-old women from Workington have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
All are in custody, helping police with their enquiries and a 26-year-old man from Workington, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been released on police bail.
Sergeant Jim Grattan said: “Vulcan Park is a public place, and we are encouraging anyone who saw the disorder to get in touch as they may have information useful to our investigation.
"We are working hard to establish what exactly has happened.”
