Tools worth tens of thousands of pounds stolen in West Cumbrian burglary

Police are appealing for information after equipment worth tens of thousands of pounds was stolen in a West Cumbrian burglary.

Thieves used cutting equipment to force access to a container at a building site compound in the Dovenby area.

A spokesman said numerous high-cost items were then removed by hand.

The incident happened between 2pm on July 30 and 6.45am on July 31.

Anyone who is invited to buy any black and yellow Trimble electronic tools, used for GPS surveying, is asked to contact police.

Other tools were also taken.

Anyone with information is asked to call PC 2528 Lane on 101, quoting incident number 43 of July 31, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
