Two men from Workington have been arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm following an incident on Wednesday at about 7.30pm.
The two men, aged 38 and 25 are alleged to have attacked a 48-year-old man.
He suffered minor injuries.
A Cumbria police spokesman said: "They are currently helping police with their enquiries."
