When someone stops breathing, having people around who know how to react significantly increases their chances of survival.
As part of the Times & Star Heart Start campaign, we teamed up with Cumbria Fire & Rescue service and DeafVision to produce demonstration videos showing how you can help someone who has collapsed.
The first video features a voiceover explaining what to do step by step.
The second, for the deaf community, features Rebecca Kiggins of West Cumbria, giving instructions for fellow sign language users.
