A Workington man has been jailed for seven and a half years after he stabbed another man in the chest.
John Wayne Conaway, 41, of Devonshire Street, was sentenced today at Carlisle Crown Court for grievous bodily harm.
Last week Conaway admitted stabbing a 32-year-old man following a disagreement over money and possessing an offensive weapon.
The incident happened in March on Firth View Walk.
Detective Constable Paul Hulse, West Cumbria CID, said: "This was a violent attack which Conaway deserves time in prison for.
"The victim was very fortunate not to have suffered more severe injuries. "This type of violence will simply not be tolerated and we are pleased that Conaway is being taken out of society."
