PUPILS from a Cockermouth school went on a cultural trip to Liverpool last weekend.
Teachers and pupils from All Saints Primary School set off early on Saturday to see Europe’s capital of culture.
The year five and six pupils started the day by visiting the Tate Gallery, where paintings by Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol hang.
Headteacher Nicola Smallwood said: “The children study a variety of artists in school and it was exciting for them to see the real paintings.”
After a trip around John Moores University the day ended with fish and chips and a safe arrival back in Cockermouth that evening.
Mrs Smallwood said: “ The children had all thoroughly enjoyed the day and it was a topic of discussion for many days to come.”
