Children surprised as school arranges prom
Last updated 19:44, Thursday, 24 July 2008
EWANRIGG Junior School in Maryport held its first prom for pupils going on to senior school.
The children knew there was going to be a disco but did not know the school association had planned a proper prom.
They arrived at the school last Thursday night and were taken by bus to the Netherhall Rugby Club for a disco and buffet supper.
During the past few months the children had been asked to name their favourite song and each was presented with a compilation CD of all their favourites and a Ewanrigg pen.
The school had also created a yearbook for the children with photos of each and blank pages for messages from fellow pupils and teachers.
Ewanrigg School Association paid for everything to give the children a memorable night.
