A WORKINGTON school is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
Ashfield Infant School is appealing for former pupils and people with links to the school to contribute photographs, memorabilia and memories for a display at an open day on September 30.
Headteacher Pat Smith said: “It is going to be a big celebration and we are looking forward to the day. We plan to dress in red because it is the school’s ruby anniversary. We want to create a party atmosphere.
“There are a lot of parents who want their children to come here because they came here themselves and obviously had a happy time.”
There will also be an opportunity for current pupils to find out from former pupils what the school was like 40 years ago.
Those who wish to contribute to the open day are asked to contact the school on 01900 325245 before September 12.
