Fleck Ditchburn, ICT teacher at Netherhall School, turned the door into the phone box from the popular TV show, complete with sound effects, because he feels it will make the classroom a more appealing and fun place to learn. Mr Ditchburn said: “It is different from anything else you really see in a school. “I have designed it to try to make the classroom more appealing and fun. “I wanted something different for my classroom rather than just another school door. “I feel it gives the classroom a bit more of a futuristic feel, which was one of my aims of the design, and I think I have managed that with the design of the Tardis on the front. “I grew up with Doctor Who when I was younger, so I have enjoyed what I have done to the front of the classroom and I am pleased with how it looks. I also hope it means the children will enjoy coming to their lessons.”
