A WORKINGTON school plans to carry out a playground makeover with the money it raised over Easter.
St Gregory’s Catholic Primary on Furness Road, Moorclose, raised a total of £690 by holding an egg dump, a bonnet parade and an Irish-themed quiz for St Patrick’s Day.
Maria McNicholas, head of the parent fund-raising group for the school, said: “We are very proud of the amount of money we raised.
“All the children have a great time and they are supported by their parents and the school.”
The Irish-themed quiz meant everyone had to wear something green.
Mrs McNicholas said: “I had to wear a big green hat that someone had got for me from a pub.
“Other people wore green tops or even just a scarf.”
The money raised by the school will go towards funding a new playground.
Children will be able to help design the courtyard by producing drawings that will be printed on the surfaces.
