Students swap points for teacher’s favours

PUPILS at Workington’s St Joseph’s Catholic High School had fun on Monday when they used reward points gained during the year to bid for services from their teachers.

The form group with the highest points was St Agnes, who gained 26,898 points; and the highest group total was 6,750, achieved by Scott Auty, Aidan Tomlinson, Nick Wood, Dean Norris and Richard Teasdale, who won the services of headteacher Tom Ryan for a day.

Angela Cunningham, Laura Gibson, Michael Lee and Jessica Taylor each had the highest average per person in a group with 1,462.5 points each.

Lots of pupils - including Paul Bennett, Stephen Hewetson, Nathan Hodgson and Adam White - bid to have teachers come into their lessons and complete their work for them, such as Paul Bennett, Stephen Hewetson, Nathan Hodgson and Adam White.

Adam Kilgour, Stuart McCullock, James McAllister and Jonathan Sloan paid 3,420 points to have a kung fu lesson with Peter Hornak; while Sam Smith, Lewis Tilley, Matthew McClure, Jake Smith and Robert Little paid 4,120 points to have a football match against their teachers and Alisha Agnew, Kayleigh Graham, Alice McCourt and Natalie Strong paid 3,545 point to have a netball match against theirs.
