New name for Hospice at Home

WEST Cumbria Hospice At Home has changed its name.
The movement, which provides care and support for the terminally ill, their families and carers, is now known as Hospice At Home West Cumbria,
Fund-raising manager Bob Barnby said trustees hope the new name will give the organisation more visibility.
“People looking for a local hospice are likely to be looking under H for Hospice or even C for Cumbria rather than W for West,” he said.
A new logo will also be launched and has been designed by hospice volunteer Ralph Bell, of Cockermouth.
The organisation is now in its 21st year and there will be a number of events coming up to celebrate the anniversary.
All its services are provided free of charge. About a third of its funding comes from the NHS and the remainder, in excess of £350,000 a year, has to be raised locally through voluntary contributions.
