Maryport's Co-op store has been given a defibrillator.
The device was installed onto the outside wall of the supermarket this week.
It was donated by Dearham First Responders who received a £1,500 grant from the county council's Maryport and district neighbourhood forum.
Another defibrillator was installed outside the Lake District Coast Aquarium, thanks to a donation from an anonymous Dearham man.
Lauren Watson, chain of survival co-ordinator for the North West Ambulance Service installed the Co-op defibrillator on Monday.
She said because the first responders, through the neighbourhood forum grant, had paid for this one, the ambulance service would donate a further defibrillator for them to place elsewhere.
First responder Alec Moore and team leader Rab Bower, thanked the people who support them.
Co-op manager, Stephen Hunton, said there was heavy footfall in the vicinity of the Co-op.
