People in West Cumbria can tackle health bosses over plans to cut hospital services this week at three public meetings.
The first Success Regime public meeting takes place tonight in Workington, where one of the consultation options could see beds removed from the town’s hospital.
Many women in the area would also have to travel to Carlisle, rather than the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven, to give birth, while stroke patients would also go to the Cumberland Infirmary.
Whitehaven’s children’s ward is also under threat, along with other care services.
Health bosses will be at Workington’s Carnegie Theatre, Finkle Street tonight to answer questions.
They will then be in Whitehaven tomorrow at the United Reformed Church in James Street.
The third meeting takes place at Cockermouth School’s eco centre, in Castlegate Drive, on Wednesday.
Each meeting runs from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
