A charity has been chosen to run a community cafe at Maryport Health Services.
West House, which runs the Cafe West franchise in Workington Library, Keswick museum and Whitehaven, will help develop the cafe.
The cafe, when it opens, will employ people with physical disabilities.
The community cafe is being developed out of the £1 million Big Lottery fund awarded to the town's Ewanrigg estate in order to raise standards and improve aspirations in the ward.
Ewanrigg Local Trust has been working with the town's only doctors' surgery.
Kate Whitmarsh, trust development officer, said she was delighted that West House had been the successful bidder for the cafe contract.
"They know how to run cafes. They will also provide employment and, on top of that, the opportunity for training support for people with disabilities."
Paul Martin, of West House, said: "We were particularly interested in being involved because we support a number of young people in Maryport. This will give them a chance to work closer to home."
West House recently lost the contract for the Workington Hospital cafe.
