Cockermouth School's Kid's Lit Quiz team came third in the UK final of the competition.
The team of four took part in the Oxford competition after winning the North West heat in Lancashire.
Daisy Eilbeck, 13, William Thompson, 12, Herbie Ashworth and Isabella Bridgman, both 11, travelled there with school librarian Helen Farrar.
