Six pupils from Cockermouth School have been awarded a total of £1,800 to spend on trips to Europe this summer.
The Europe Prize Scholarship Fund was set up in town 17 years ago and offers travel bursaries to sixth form students at the school.
Six pairs of students made a presentation to the fund committee at a meeting in the school last week.
Three pairs were then each awarded £600.
Rhiannon Carroll and Lucy Ives, will use their money towards a visit to Rome.
Imogen Cawthorn and Emily Gordon will go to Berlin with their cash.
Mark Brailey and Jack Morris are planning to travel to Gothenburg.
A spokesman for the scholarship fund said: "The presentations were of a very high standard as in past years and the committee were impressed by what they heard and how the youngsters had presented themselves."
