Two teams did battle in a walking football match on Saturday at St Joseph's School in Workington to help raise money for Sport Relief.

Coaches and parents of players from Allerdale Girls FC took on a team of players who attend Monday evening walking football sessions at St Joseph's.

They played a 45-minute match which ended 12-5 to St Joseph's.

On Sunday runners and walkers took part in the Sport Relief mile from the school.

Hundreds of pounds were raised for Sport Relief through individual sponsorship at the two events, collection buckets and a cake sale.

David Wise, event organiser, said: "I'm really pleased and both events went really well.

"There was a lot of positivity about it all and the walking football was brilliant."
