Pupils at Cockermouth School enjoyed a variety of challenges based on The Hunger Games during activities week.

The English department organised a range of events to test the year eight pupils’ analytical skills, knowledge and courage.

Teacher Richard Lawson-Ellis said: “Don’t worry, no child was in any danger beyond having a fantastic time.”

They took part in team building and navigational activities, completed the Tree Top Trek in Ambleside and tried out Jiujitsu and archery.

Mr Lawson-Ellis said: “This wonderful opportunity allowed the English department to bring literature to life."
