Jordan Wedgwood, 11, who is leaving Westfield Nursery and Primary School this week, has not missed a single day of school since he joined in reception.
He was presented with a certificate and a gaming voucher for his efforts and will be put in the school’s hall of fame.
Jordan said: “I’m really pleased and amazed, but I’m going to miss the school quite a lot.
“My mum always makes sure I get to school. It’s a good way to end. I’ve set myself the target of not missing a day of secondary school.”
Jordan will join Workington Academy in September. He lives in Bowness Court, Workington, with mum Stacey, 32, stepfather Russell, 39, and sister Charlie, six.
Stacey and Russell are both members of the school’s Parents of Westfield team. Headteacher Karen Barley said: “It’s a remarkable achievement and an example of how determined he is.
“He’s made every effort to be in school and he’s got a supportive family who have enabled him to do it.”
