Staff and pupils at Keswick School were shocked to discover a mysterious five-feet stencil on a wall.

The stencil, done in the style of street artist Banksy, shows a Keswick School student walking towards the maths and physics corridor with a speech bubble over his head.

The artwork had appeared over the weekend of April 23.

It features an equation that represents Albert Einstein’s general theory of relativity.

The theory provides a description of gravity.

The stencil sparked great discussion and excitement at the school, but it is unknown who the artist is.

Annabel Scott, the school’s development manager, said: “The unknown artist has clearly depicted that education has no boundaries and is always open to new discoveries.

“It also rather poignantly reflects Keswick School’s motto Levavi oculos.”
