Children in Need mascot Pudsey Bear brought smiles to youngsters at Maryport's Netherton Infant School.
Pudsey only makes selected visits in the run-up to the annual BBC Children in Need charity appeal, and school administrator Susan Shepherd said that the school had written several times previously asking for a visit.
She said: “Our school always supports Children in Need."
She said the visit was especially welcome as the school now takes in two-year-olds who enjoyed the visit.
Children and staff were dressed in spots and Pudsey-theme outfits.
Children in Need raises money for organisations helping children throughout the UK.
The Settlement in Marport is one local community organisation which has benefited from grants.
Children in Need 2015 will take place on Friday.
