Cockermouth School held a World of Work day to allow pupils to find out about possible career paths.
A total of 220 pupils met 40 professionals to find out about their jobs.
Careers represented included accountancy, armed forces, creative media, project management, public services, communications, childcare, human resources, pharmacy, architecture, performing arts and business development.
Rik Smith, head of key stage four, said: "We want to encourage students to aspire to fulfill their potential, we also want to increase awareness amongst the students of the variety of roles available in the working world.
"We were delighted with how it all went. There were high levels of engagement, some excellent questions being asked and answered."
