Tracey Buchanan, 49, of Noble Croft, has said goodbye to her role at the town’s Richmond Hill Primary School. A former pupil and governor of the school, she was also its lollipop lady until April.
Tracey said she will miss the friendly atmosphere after friends young and old showered her with flowers and cards and wrote heartfelt messages on her apron.
She added: “I’ve had a big send-off which was lovely. I wasn’t expecting it, I just wanted to go quietly. I love the school and will miss it.”
Tracey is looking forward to spending more time with her granddaughter Darcie but hopes to stay involved with the school in some capacity.
Headteacher Helen Ford said: “She’s a stalwart member of staff who is dedicated and will be missed.”
