Birdwatching youngsters have been discovering the wildlife living in their school grounds.
There has been plenty of fun activities happening at Workington's Ashfield Infant School as pupils take part in the RSPB's Big Schools' Birdwatch.
Michelle Coulthard, office manager, said the school was passionate about getting pupils outside to experience nature first-hand.
"Pupils made their own bird feeders, researched where the best place to put them would be and then hung them out for the birds to feed from," she said.
Part of the annual, national project was to record how many birds they saw and submit their results to the RSPB for its annual survey.
"The children spent time outside observing birds and recording their data," added Mrs Coulthard.
"They saw a variety of birds including robins, blue tits, crows, black tits, blackbirds, magpies and collared doves."
There was also evidence of a woodpecker and owls in the tree areas around the school.
The Big Schools' Birdwatch takes place in the first half of the spring term.
