Two hundred children had a taste of university life.
Maryport Extended Schools Partnership took children from junior and primary schools in and around the town to visit the University of Cumbria's Fusehill campus.
The children took part in activities as a taster to university life, organised by the university to promote higher education.
The Maryport Extended Schools partnership has been working with the university on these visits for four years.
Partnership coordinator Nicola Woolley said they had been very positive.
"It is never too early to start raising aspirations and planting the seed that university could be a possibility for all of them," she said.
