Children at a West Cumbrian school welcomed some creepy crawly guests to their classroom.
Frogs, caterpillars, spiders, snakes and ladybirds were at the centre of the attention at Seaton Academy yesterday.
Pupils had a chance to find out more about the creatures thanks to a workshop held for the school's science week.
Holly Smith, science coordinator, said: "The children absolutely loved it.
"They looked at a range of mini beasts, how to identify them and classify them.
"The children were able to touch the animals and learn about them.
"We'll be doing more activities this week and each year group will focus on a particular mini beast, learning about the lifecycle for example.
"It's good for the children to have a hands-on approach."
