Hundreds of youngsters had lots of messy fun at Cockermouth School creating artwork for the Big Draw.
The annual national event is the world’s biggest celebration of drawing.
Pupils from Cockermouth School and surrounding primaries worked together to create a huge work of art.
This year's theme was steam powered.
Cockermouth's Fab Lab agreed to create 900 cardboard cogs with its laser cutter.
These were decorated by year seven, eight and nine pupils.
Also taking part were children from Bridekirk Dovenby, Fairfield and All Saints' schools.
Central to the Big Draw artwork was a steampunk machine created by year nine pupils and made out of junk.
It was modelled on the winning design, by Caitlin Cawthorn, 13, in a school competition.
Sam Tinkler, head of art and design, said: "We decided to hook up with science and do some scientific experiments using unusual methods to make marks on the cogs. We used various things, including magnets, salt crystals and shaving foam.
"Doing cross curricula projects is what we are all about, we do not see art in isolation, it's a huge part of the school. This project is really exciting for us."
