Wildlife photography

THE BEACON in Whitehaven is the only venue in Cumbria to host an internationally-renowned photography exhibition.

Prize winning images from the 2007 Shell Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition are on view to June 7 in the Harbour Gallery.

This year’s competition received 32,000 entries from all over the world.

The exhibition debuted in the Natural History Museum in London in October and is now touring selected venues.

It includes more than 100 winning and commended images. Entry to the exhibition is free.
