The daredevil TV presenter and author will navigate the Via Ferrata climbing route which clings to the side of Fleetwith Pike high above Borrowdale for ITV’s Countrywise programme next week.
He will tackle the system of cables and walkways which make up the Honister Slate Mine’s attraction with climber Paul Ross for the episode which will be screened on Friday, December 16.
Ross established many of the modern climbing routes in the Lakes during the 1950s and 60s and is well-known as a pioneer of modern rock climbing.
The pair will be joined by outdoor instructor Gnash Baxter, who originally helped build the climbing attraction in 2006.
The filming took place earlier this year as part of the 15-part series Countrywise: Guide To Britain .
