The ceremony took place at Egbaston Stadium in Birmingham.

The town was represented by Bill Jefferson, chair of Silloth in Bloom, Tony Markley, mayor of Silloth, Wendy Jameson, town clerk and secretary of Silloth in Bloom, and volunteers Vivian Russell and Anne Winter.

Coun Jefferson was also awarded the Britain in Bloom Community Champion Award in recognition of his commitment and dedication to Britain in Bloom in the community.

Coun Markley said: "This is a fantastic achievement for the town. Special thanks go to the Silloth in Bloom team, community volunteers, local businesses and the town council's grounds maintenance team, as this could not have been achieved without them."
