Manchester Camerata, the only orchestra to carry the city’s name, will be making its first appearance in Cockermouth on Tuesday, October 25.
Its aim is to create inspiring experiences through music that connect with everyone every time.
Cockermouth Music Society is enabled to present this special concert thanks to generous sponsorship from the charity Orchestras Live which exists to bring orchestral music to areas that don’t normally experience it.
The town’s music society was fortunate to obtain the charity’s support 10 years ago , before which Cockermouth had never had an orchestral concert, so it is a significant step forward in the spread of classical music that orchestral music has come to Cockermouth, with the wealth of wonderful music it can bring to the public.
Tickets for the concert at Christ Church, on South Street, are available from Billy Bowman Music Shop in Lowther Went, or from 016973 71397.
