Elkie Brooks is to headline Maryport Blues Festival after an American band pulled out.
Royal Southern Brotherhood, who were the Saturday night headliners, have cancelled their UK visit to tour the United States.
Elkie is an award winning singer whose record, Pearl's a Singer, sold over a million copies.
She was in British R&B band Vinegar Joe, sharing vocals with the legendary Robert Plant.
She also performed with and became a friend of jazz maestro Humphrey Lyttelton.
Lyttelton, who also presented the internationally popular radio show, I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue, invited her to sing with his band and started an on and off musical partnership that lasted over 40 years.
Elkie Brook's two Pearl albums remained in the UK charts for 105 weeks. In the 90s she was in the Guinness Book of Records for having the most albums in the UK top 75 than any other British female for the previous two decades. The blues festival takes place from July 28 to July 31.
