A man was taken to hospital with the effects of smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in his flat in Workington.
Fire crews were called to St Mary’s Court at 4.30am on Saturday and requested an ambulance for the man.
He was given oxygen and taken to hospital.
The firefighters were at the scene for two hours.
Smoke was also cleared from the house with a large fan. An investigation into the cause of the fire is under way.
