Four fire crews were called out to Wigton's Innovia factory after a fire broke out in a boiler room in the early hours of today.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze was caused by oil leaking out on to pipe lagging and then overheating.
The boiler room was evacuated as the crews quickly got the blaze under control, said a spokesman.
The crews involved were from Wigton, Aspatria and Carlisle. They were called out just before 12.30am.
