People will be encouraged to think about their end of life arrangements at an event in Workington town centre next week.
Hospice at Home West Cumbria will set up a Death Pop-Up Cafe at The Hub on Wednesday from 10am to 4pm as part of the national campaign Dying Matters Week.
Staff from the charity, health and care sectors, Eaves Funeral Service and a legal representative from Milburns Solicitors will be available to give advice and answer questions.
Linda Hewitt, chief executive of the hospice, said: "We know from experience that when a person has had a conversation with their family or friends about their preferences and choices towards the end of their life it can make a significant difference for everyone concerned.
"Changing knowledge, attitudes and behaviours towards dying, death and bereavement is an essential step towards achieving this."
