The event will take place from today until Sunday.
Italian biscuits and olives, Egyptian textiles, handmade leather goods, speciality sausages and Danish pastries will be among the items on sale.
Stalls will be set up on Murray Road and outside Laura Ashley.
Tomorrow and Sunday, entertainment will take place under The Hub and on the town centre stage.
Performers include Union Gap, Broken English, Salvation, Kerry & Jed, Cindy Hoten, Just Jock, Frankie, Flimby Brass Band, Plastic Paddy and John Hastings with poetry.
A fitness and massaging stall, facepainting, Henna tattoos, a rodeo bull, charity stalls and an assault course will also be on offer.
Toni Magean, town centre manager for Allerdale council, said: “It’s the first time we’ve had an event like this in Workington for quite a long time.”
The market on Murray Road will be open between 10am and 6pm today and tomorrow, and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
The road will be closed to traffic from today until 10pm on Sunday.
