Stereophonics, Tinie Tempah and Beach Boys legend Brian Wilson are among the six headliners at Kendal Calling 2017.

The others are Manic Street Preachers, Franz Ferdinand and Frank Turner and his band The Sleeping Souls.

Also on the bill at the four-day event, which takes place at Lowther Deer Park, near Penrith, from July 27 to 30, are Jake Bugg, Editors, Seasick Steve, Slaves, Frightened Rabbit, Circa Waves, Nothing But Thieves, Lethal Bizzle, Kate Nash, The Hunna, Loyle Carner and The Coral.

The festival will be particularly notable for two reasons. It will be the first time Stereophonics have played Kendal Calling and it will mark Wilson's return to the UK, for the final time, to present the Pet Sounds album in its entirety. He'll be performing with two special guests - Beach Boys co-founder Al Jardine and former band member Blondie Chaplin.

Festival founder Andy Smith said: "Drastic times cause for drastic measures and to that end we’ve gone the whole nine yards.

"We're excited to be welcoming no less than six headliners to the fields this year, including Brian Wilson’s last appearance on these shores."

Elsewhere Field Music, Fickle Friends, Honeyblood, Palace, Little Comets, Blaenavon, Shame, The Pale White, Eat Fast, Bad Sounds, Soshe, Reverend And The Makers, Freak, Man & The Echo, Bossy Love, White, The Shimmer Band, Fews, Ardyn, Dead! and Kendal favourites The Lancashire Hotpots are set to appear.

The line-up is further bolstered by acts including Mercury Prize nominees The Comet Is Coming, Smash Hi-Fi, Holly Holdener, Yumi & The Weather, Honeyfeet, Sola Rosa and Lost Colours.

Additionally, mariachi Morrissey covers band Mexrissey and London African Gospel Choir performing Graceland and Beatlemania make it one of the most varied line-ups in the event's 12-year history.

The multi award-winning festival also includes arts installations, comedy, gourmet food, children’s entertainment and a real ale festival.
