Maryport's restored heritage lighthouse will be officially unveiled this month.
The cast iron lighthouse, reputed to be one of the oldest in the world, was given a £50,000 Coastal Revival grant.
The money was used to repaint and repair the lighthouse and to restore the light, which will now shine on the community but not out to sea.
Town centre manager Toni Magean said a new interpretation board would be unveiled at the opening and children from Maryport Junior School would read lighthouse poems.
The event starts at 11am on Thursday, May 18 and will be followed by an invitation-only buffet at the marina.
