A rain warning has been issued by the Met Office for Cumbria.
It says that between 30mm and 40mm of rain could fall in places between 12.15am and 9am tomorrow.
“Be aware of the risk of surface water flooding, which could cause local disruption to transport and outdoor activities,” it adds.
The yellow warning says rain will become persistent and locally heavy during tonight before clearing early tomorrow.
The warning covers a large part of north west England.
