The new mayor of Workington will be selected in a ceremony at the town's Carnegie Theatre next week.
The ceremony is open to the public and is an opportunity for people to meet the newly-elected mayor and town councillors.
Councillors will also select members for various committees.
The mayor will serve a one-year term and will represent the town at civic functions.
The ceremony gets under way at 7.30pm on Wednesday.
