The Workington and District Twinning Association and the town council will hold Party in the Park on May 27 at Vulcan Park.
A council spokesman said: “The aim of the event is to involve the town and community in a celebration to promote the twinning association and their work.
“It has been designed with families and community organisations in mind.”
A funfair will bring Vulcan Park to life, alongside a host of street entertainers, face painting, crafts for the children and a climbing wall.
Live music will be at the heart of the entertainment offered on the Melodrome stage, together with performances from Workington And District Amateur Musical Society and John Hastings.
The Fairly Famous Family will bring their Anyone For Tennis show.
The act mocks a Wimbledon game and sees the audience getting involved impersonating players, ball boys and even royalty.
Slow-motion replays, comic commentary and post-match interviews are all part of the fun.
And My Superhero will bring children’s favourite characters including Disney princesses, TV sensation Paw Patrol, and superheroes Spiderman and Batman.
Trellis Arts will keep the children hooked with their awe-inspiring storytelling.
A market will offer gifts, food, crafts and homeware.
The event is due to take place from 10am to 6pm and admission is free.
Workington is twinned with Selm in Germany and with Val De Reuil in France.
The association promotes links between the town and organises exchanges and events.
The association held a reunion at last year’s Paint The Town Red, with people travelling from the twin towns to Workington for the occasion.
