A Cockermouth holiday park hopes to welcome in locals as well as visitors this weekend as it celebrates Cumbria's breweries.

Wyndham Hall Caravan Park on Keswick Road is holding a three-day real ale festival from today.

It will feature 10 beers from six Cumbrian breweries and follows a similar event last year.

Jack Windle, bar manager, said: "There are so many breweries and micro breweries in the Lake District and they need promoting.

"Real ale is making a comeback and we feel we should promote it."

The festival will be open from noon to midnight today, tomorrow and Sunday and Cumbrian band Out On Bail will play tomorrow from 2pm to 4pm.

Entry is free.
