Leading tributes to the world's biggest live acts are set to take the spotlight in Cumbria later this month.

Brand-new music festival Reboot lands at the Zebra Claims Stadium, in Workington, on Saturday April 30 - with stages dedicated to the UK's best soundalikes and some fine local performers.

Heading up the main stage bill will be Aladdinsane, with a poignant tribute to David Bowie, who died earlier this year. The band is fronted by Paul Henderson, who first caught national attention on ITV’s Stars In Their Eyes as the Thin White Duke in the 1990s.

The globetrotting Really Hot Chili Peppers, who have played shows across Europe and Asia, take on the funk rock hits of their Californian idols, including the major hits Under The Bridge, By The Way, and Scar Tissue.

Fellow American heavyweights the Foo Fighters are represented by long-running live act Four Fighters - who have been playing festivals as far afield as South America for more than a decade.

The Fillers, a send-up of The Killers, will be out to prove why they are thought of as one of the best tributes to Brandon Flowers and co, not just in the UK but the world, and Oasish - the only band to play the world famous Glastonbudget every year since its inception - perform the hits of their "Madchester" counterparts.

Stereophonics returned to prominence last year with number one album, Keep the Village Alive, so expect the new material to feature in the set from Stereotonics.

Cumbrian covers band Mojo Rising, who play a wide range of tracks from The Stone Roses, Oasis, Sex Pistols, and Metallica, round out the main stage action.

The Fillers  A number of other local acts are due to appear on the day too, with female-fronted Carlisle band Blind Fiction and Workington's own pop punk outfit Stand Up Arcade joined by solo singer-songwriters David Kay, Luke Matear and Dan Mason, and Morecambe's Joe McCorriston.

The event is organised by Allerdale Borough Council, Workington Town Rugby Club and GLL, and also features a packed field that also includes fairground rides, Professor Pumpernickel's Magnificent Science Show, circus skills, giant floor games, arts and crafts, and a facepainter, as well as food stalls and bars.

Tickets are priced £17.50 for adults, £10 for children aged 10 to 16, and under 10s are admitted free. They are available online via www.cnevents.co.uk or from the Carnegie Theatre in Workington, Billy Bowman Music in Cockermouth, and the Times & Star in Workington.

  • Anyone who buys a ticket before Sunday April 17 gets a free drink at the bar. A bus from Carlisle has limited space, so early booking is advised.
