Youngsters in Maryport can enjoy a trip though history at a Roman-style Olympic Games day tomorrow.

The event, at Ewanrigg Community Centre, has been organised by Ewanrigg Local Trust and Camp Farm and follows on from a successful similar event which was held at Easter, where 60 people took part in chariot racing.

Craft activities including making team banners, costumes, and props will be held from 10.30am, with Jem the Juggler teaching tricks and a group effort to make an Olympic torch.

An opening ceremony will be held at 2pm for teams to parade their creations and prizes to be awarded for the best, before the games begin at 3pm.

Competitions will include tag rugby, javelin, three-legged racing and a pinata before a prize-giving and food at 4pm.
