Cockermouth Round Table has donated £500 to the West Cumberland Orienteering Club.
Nine club youngsters will be taking part in the World Schools Orienteering Championships in Sicily next month.
They are: Joe Goodwin, Zac Hudd, Louis Morris, Daniel Spencer, Alastair Thomas, Rosie Spencer, Caitlin Irving, Ben Breeze and Niamh Hunter.
A club spokesman said: "The juniors had to attend selection races and are training hard to ensure they are in top condition for the event.
"The competitors have to pay their own travel and accommodation costs and the donation from Round Table will be used to help pay these costs."
