The top 10 gifts children are asking for this Christmas have been revealed - and you can save money on them if you subscribe to the Times & Star.

Lego is top of most children's letters to Santa, according to the Royal Mail.

Also on the list are scooters and bikes, mobile phones and Paw Patrol and Barbie toys.

And the good news is all these toys can be bought from retailers linked to the Read & Save scheme, a money-saving available to Times & Star readers.

At The Entertainer, for example, subscribers can save 11 per cent on their shopping bills, there is nine per cent off at Halfords and eight per cent at Argos

Other major stockists are also part of the Read & Save scheme.

Surprisingly missing from the list are Hatchimals, which seem to be this year's must have toy.

The popular plastic eggs with trainable baby birds inside are sold out from shops across the country.

Kirsty Lynch, manager of The Entertainer in Workington, said: "Pie Face by itself was a craze and now two people can play it.

"Paw Patrol is a bestseller. Boys and girls both like it and has a large age range. There are so many different characters, not just a single one.

"Furby Connects have sold well, especially as we've sold out of Hatchimals and everyone wants an electric toy and it's the next best thing.
