Buttermere Shepherds' Meet will take place on Saturday, in a field next to Croft House Cafe.
About 200 Herdwicks are expected to be shown in the 20 classes which start at 10.30am.
A fell race to the top of Whitless Breast and back will set off at 2pm.
The judges include Jean Wilson, who is known as Queen of the Herdwicks by Matterdale sheep farmer and writer James Rebanks.
Entry is free.
