French and Italian Star Wars posters appear alongside more traditional train sets and dolls houses in next week's vintage and antique toy sale in Cockermouth.

The 1980s Star Wars posters for Le Retour du Jedi (Return of the Jedi) and L'Impero Colpisce Ancora (The Emperor Strikes Back) will go under the hammer as the world marks the 40th anniversary of the original film.

They are expected to fetch between £150 and £200 each.

The sale will also feature a boxed Japanese Mr Zerox tinplate robot toy with an estimated value of £100 to £150.

A group of 15 vintage metal Rowntree tins in various shapes, including bananas and cricket bats, is expected to fetch between £80 and £120.

A box set of Snow White's seven dwarves, missing Snow White, has an estimate of £15 to £25.

There is plenty for model railway enthusiasts and train collectors, including a collection of 18 lots of Wrenn locomotives, still wrapped in paper and with instructions.

They include a boxed Wrenn 00 gauge LMS City of Liverpool locomotive and tender, expected to fetch between £100 and £150.

There will also be a rare standard gauge pre-war red and yellow Lionel Corporation Crane Car with an estimate of £120 to £180.

Among the sale's Hornby and Hornby Dublo lots is a small private collection of 0 gauge clockwork locomotives and wagons, including a boxed No. 1 Special Tank locomotive, LMS 15500, in maroon livery, which is expected to fetch £100 to £150.

A collection of railway-related books, split between 10 lots, with a combined estimate of £300.

Two metal 1944 Darlington wagon plates in blue and black, and a tin of 1960s metal Carlisle railway tokens, all have estimated of £30 to £50.

Doll enthusiasts will be catered for with lots including typical 20th century bisque head dolls by German makers including Herm Steiner and Armand Marseille.

They include an early 20th century bisque head Gerbruder Heubach Solemn baby doll, expected to fetch £40 to £60.

Sindy and American Uneeda dolls will make an appearance, and there are various lots of Patch dolls, known as "Sindy's naughty little sister" with estimates between £20 and £40.

Two 1970s Palitoy Action Man soldiers are expected to make between £60 and £80.

A two-storey cream doll's house with two boxes of furniture and accessories, previously owned by a dedicated collector, is expected to make around £200.

Steiff animals also feature in the sale, including a blonde 1950s teddy bear which is expected to make £40 to £60, and a 1960s Perri squirrel with an estimate of £20 to £30.

Pre-war Dinky toys up for grabs include a No. 49 Pratts petrol pump set, valued at £80 to £120, an 18-pounder quick-firing field gun unit expected to make £60 to £80 and a boxed Dinky RAC box, motorcycle patrol and guides set up for around £80 to £120.

Die cast collectors can get their hands on numerous lots of boxed Corgi, Dinky and Matchbox vehicles, including some Dinky reproductions.

There are numerous Eddie Stobart die cast models, including Rugby Super League models.

Model ships include a cased hand-made model of the sail ship Jaluit, valued at £150 to £200, and a cased model of HMS Herald, with an estimate of £150 to £250.

The sale takes place on Saturday, July 15 from 10am.

Lots can be viewed in the saleroom on Friday, July 14 from 3pm to 7pm and on the day of the sale from 8.30am to 10am.
